The glass artist Hildur Símonardóttir was born in the beautiful
Icelandic fishing town of Grindavík, on the Reykjanes peninsula. She
has been working with glass since 2001.
Qualification: Hildur has professional qualifications both in Iceland and
Denmark in various forms of glass art, silver clay, and ceramic art.
Artist statement:
I am influenced by the contrasts in the Icelandic nature, fire, and ice,
the beautiful colours of the northern lights and the character of the
Icelandic people.
